Walter Joe Peters passed away on April 1, 2020, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Medical Center in Houston.

He was born on July 18, 1952 to Walter and Tonie (Klimek) Peters. He grew up on the family farm in Frelsburg. Walter attended St. John’s Catholic School in Fayetteville, but he graduated from Columbus High School in 1970. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston in 1974. Upon graduation Walter taught speech and drama at Aldine High School. He directed several large productions like “The King and I,” “Dracula,” and “Streetcar Named Desire” as well as made the sets. He worked for various large retail stores in Houston, Los Angeles, and Scottsdale, Ariz., in window and store design. His last position before retiring was with The Design Firm in Sugar Land.

Walter’s entire life was filled with creativity and talents.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Tonie Peters, and his brother-in-law, Leroy Drymalla.

He is survived by his only sibling, Jenelle (Peters) Drymalla; niece, Kristen Drymalla; nephew, Eric Drymalla; and great nephew, Kirby Drymalla.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Frelsburg Volunteer Fire Department.

A celebration of his life will be celebrated at a later date.
