Supak

Bernice Fehmer Supak, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

She was born to Clemence and Alma (Schobel) Fehmer on April 30, 1938, in Houston. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School. While raised in Houston, she spent countless weekends and summers at the family farm in Fayette County. It was there that she met and then married John Supak on October 27, 1963, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger. They were blessed with two daughters; Tara and Shannon.

Bernice was employed for over 25 years with Shell Oil Company as an Executive Assistant to several Presidents. She was held in the highest regard as a diligent and loyal employee. She maintained many friendships beyond her retirement.

She was a woman of strong faith who loved attending mass and praying the rosary often. She always put others before herself and would do anything to help those in need.

More affectionately known as “Gammer,” her greatest love was that of her family and friends. That love was most notably demonstrated through her baking and cooking. She would spend countless hours, especially during the holidays, making her famous, cookies, pies, cakes and rolls. She was a true symbol of strength for all and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters: Tara Limmer and husband James of Brenham; Shannon Gamble and husband, Harry Gamble IV, of Houston; grandsons; Bradley Vaughan and wife, Brittany of the Woodlands, and Aaron Vaughan and wife, Adriana of Houston. Her precious great-grandchildren; Braeden Vaughan and Brooklyn Vaughan. Sister; Clemie Polocheck; nephew, Layne (Jeanne) Polocheck; niece, Mandy Vest; great-nieces; Delaney Polocheck, Nicolette Polocheck, and Alexa Vest. Special cousins; Jimmy (Trisha) Skalitsky and Robert (Cindy) Efird.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, John Supak and her sister Corrine Wilson.

The family would like to ex tend a special thanks to the staff at Saint Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange, as well as her beloved neighbors, Nora and Jesse Requena and family, Jennette and Jimmy Recenos and family and Jose Recenos.
