Willie D. Thomas, Sr., 72, of Schulenburg died Friday, March 15, 2019.

Willie was born April 6, 1946 in Schulenburg to Lark Thomas Sr. and Cleo (Adams) Thomas. He married Autry G. (Johnson) Thomas in Schulenburg on Sept. 8, 1965. He graduated from J.A. Greene High School in 1965. He was a member and Deacon of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Schulenburg. He was a truck driver for the City of Schulenburg and retired after 36 years. He also retired from Fayette County Precinct 4 after nine years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Reginald Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Autry G. (Johnson) Thomas of Schulenburg; daughters, Tanja Cubit and husband Keith and Tamara Thomas and fiance Ed, all of Schulenburg; sons, Willie Thomas, Jr. and wife Teri of Hallettsville, Greg Thomas and wife Missy, and Lafayette Thomas of Schulenburg; sisters, Arlene Wilson and Ossie Lee Thomas, both of Schulenburg; and brothers, Henry Lee Thomas, Sr. and wife Vivian of Dickinson and Herman Thomas and wife Pat of Austin.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church in Schulenburg on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Andrew Stafford and Rev. Austin Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Schulenburg.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange.
