Autism Awareness Games Celebrate County Youth

The swing of bats and the sound of baseballs and softballs being hit is common in the small towns of our tri-county area this time of year. April brings baseball and softball season for all ages. April is also Autism Awareness Month and this year Turtle Wing Foundation partnered again with area high school athletics programs for sixteen Autism Awareness Games.

Turtle Wing representatives were present at all games sharing information on autism and the foundation, selling merchandise and collecting donations. However, the highlight of the game is always the ceremonial first pitch. This is a special moment for all involved. The smiles of the youths and families being celebrated may only be outshone by the smiles of the coaches and players they get to share the night with.
