Elderly Man Allegedly Kills Wife

A tragic scene was discovered Thursday evening in Schulenburg when family members checking on elderly relatives found what police now believe was a murder and attempted suicide. According to Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek, the

family members arrived at one of the Schulenburg Retirement Villa apartments at 205 East Avenue to find 91-year-old 

Gertrude Cole dead of asphyxiation (lack of oxygen) and her husband, David Cole, 87, with self-inflicted life threatening injuries.
