Lawyer Disputes Firing of Police Chief

The attorney for former Flatonia Police Chief Perry Kram alleges that the City’s decision to fire him last week amounted to a coup within the Flatonia Police Department.

“He cleaned up the Flatonia Police Department to the great relief by the citizens of Flatonia, but with great resistance from the several of the officers, even from several of those that he, himself, hired,” stated Michael Peck, Kram’s attorney, in an e-mail to the Record on Thursday, April 25. “There is a plan in play among several current officers to replace Chief Kram with one of their own.”
