Tommy Tipton Says He’s Not Avoiding Restitution

Tommy Tipton told the Record this week that some recent land deals involving him and his incarcerated brother Eddie have nothing to do with the brothers trying to avoid paying restitution.

The Des Moines Register newspaper in Iowa reported on Monday that the brothers transferred several properties to family members in recent months while they still owe a combined $2.45 million in restitution, court costs and fines stemming from the Iowa Hot Lotto Scandal.

“Nobody has transferred any properties to avoid anything,” Tommy Tipton told the Record in an interview on Wednesday, May 1.
