Marie Julia Reiss Ivy
Marie Julia Reiss Ivy, 91, of West Point died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at St. Mark’s Medical- Center in La Grange. Marie was born in Fayette County on Oct. 25, 1922, the daughter of Fred Reiss and Annie (Pospisil) Reiss. She married Ross C. Ivy on June 21, 1941 in Plum. Marie was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters,
Altar Society, and the retired teacher’s association. She loved gardening and was an avid sports fan. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Gerald Buchta of Lake Texoma, daughter-in-law, Shirley Ivy of Angleton, son and daughterin- law Fred and Cynthia Ivy of Hungerford, one brother and sister- in-law, Henry and Eleanora Reiss of West Point, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Ross C. Ivy, two sons, Willie Lynn and Anthony Ross Ivy, a great grandson, Kent David Buchta, and a sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Clarence Brothers. Visitation will be held from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.
11, 2014 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, with the family receiving guests from 5 to 7 p.m. A Rosary will
be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 11, 2014 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum on Wednesday Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. with the internment to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Plum. Family suggests memorials to Hospice Brazos Valley, 1048 N. Jefferson St., La Grange, Texas 78945, or the charity of your choice.
