Hallettsville Baseball Coach and Administrators Arrested Tuesday

Hallettsville Police arrested two coaches and the high school principal from Hallettsville ISD on Tuesday, April 29. 

A Lavaca County Grand Jury handed down indictments last Friday against Scott Eugene Cottenoir, 50 of Hallettsville; Darrin Alexander Bickham, 50 of Weimar; and Calvin Edward Cook, 50 of Yoakum for failure to report a crime that allegedly occurred during the first week of March.

The Hallettsville ISD website lists Bickham as the principal at Hallettsville High School, Cook is the head baseball coach and Cottenoir is the assistant principal. The crime they failed to report was the alleged abuse of a child. 

Hallettsville Superintendent Jo Ann Bludau issued the following statement on Tuesday: the district does not believe the three school employees are guilty of any crime.
