William Edward “Willie” Korenek

William Edward “Willie” Korenek, 71, died Feb. 3, 2014 at his home after a sudden illness. The son of Frank Victor and Annie Sophie (Janecka) Korenek, he was born Sept. 7, 1942 in Dubina. He and Isyjean Pinchin were married Oct. 28, 1961 in Houston. He is survived by his wife, of Rockdale; daughter, Denise Korenek Meyer and husband Harvey of Schulenburg; son, Darrell Korenek and wife Miki of Weatherford; brother, Frank C. Korenek and wife Bea of Minerva; sister, Annie Mae Ripper and husband Walter of Schulenburg; sisters-in-law, Nettilee Korenek of Rockdale and Carla Haydon of Georgetown; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ignac “Ike” Korenek and Joseph “Joe” Korenek. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial was at 3 p.m. in the Jewish Cemetery in Hallettsville.
