Barn Board Quilt Trail

The Winchester Quilt Block Trail was the recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Texas Women’s League of La Grange this past Wednesday. The funding will be used to develop a website for the Trail, which will enable it to be listed on a national registry of Quilt Block Trails.

New Quilt Trail maps are available. You can find them on the patio of Zilss Hall, Murphy’s and The Depot in Winchester. They are also available at the Quilt Museum, the Wendish Museum, quilt stores and other business in Giddings, Smithville and La Grange. The trail is self-drive and available at your convenience. You will find the blocks on fences, gates, barns and houses that can be seen from the road. Take some time to have a leisurely lunch in Winchester and drive the trail of Quilt Block Art.

Recycling Containers

WACA has acquired recycling containers for the Winchester community. They are located at the old Zoch garage at Zilss Road and FM 153. You can recycle clean no. 1 and no. 2 plastic, cans, glass, paper and broken-down cardboard.

Community Hall
