The Long Way Home

I recently traveled with my daughter to make the final move to Mississippi before starting her new job later this month. The plan was simple. Travel in her car to Mississippi on Friday, finish assembling the furniture that had been delivered and hang the rest of the pictures on Saturday, then fly home on Sunday.

Things went pretty smoothly on Friday, I chose to drive the first half of the trip: 1. Because if I am going to drive, it needs to be in the morning, otherwise I’m in danger of falling asleep. 2. By driving, I had the most legroom of anyone in the car. We left the house at 8 a.m. with every inch of space taken up in her tiny car. There were no major problems on the way there, only a couple of traffic hang-ups – even the two dogs that were traveling with us behaved well.
