Schovajsa

Jo Ann (Galle) Schovajsa, 77, passed away June 12, 2019 at her residence in Bleiblerville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019 at Nelsonville Brethren Church, with Pastor Michael Groseclose officiating. Burial followed in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Industry.

Visitation was from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Jo Ann Schovajsa was born Nov. 18, 1941 in Willow Springs to Alvin and Lydia Schmidt Galle.

Prior to retirement, Jo Ann was employed by Austin Co. State bank where she served as vice-president. She also worked alongside her husband in the family’s catering business, with her specialty being preparing finger foods.

A lifelong member of Nelsonville Brethren Church, she was also a member of the Bleiblerville VFD. Jo Ann enjoying reading and sitting on the front porch of her home, as well as driving around Bleiblerville and Industry.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Herbert Schovajsa.

Suriviors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerrel and Malinda Schovajsa of Bleiblerville; brother and sister-in-law, Lowe and Sue Galle of Lockhart; nephew, Greg Galle and wife Anybe; niece, Karla Tate and husband Mike; great-nephew Mark Tate and wife Taylor; great-nieces Julie Tate, and Nichole Wasikowski and husband Drew.

Serving as pallbearers were Greg Galle, Mike Tate, Wayne Boenker, Tim Janish, Brian Gaskamp, and Dwayne Juergens.

Honorary pallbearers were all former and present employees of Schovajsa Catering.

Memorials may be directed to Bleiblerville VFD, Nelsonville Brethren Church or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
