Olga Gully

Olga Gully, 91, of Fayetteville died March 18, 2014 in Katy Memorial Hermann Hospital. Olga was born in Fayetteville

on Nov. 26, 1922, the daughter of William and Mary (Martis) Jasek. She was a lifelong resident of Fayetteville but resided 

in a nursing home in Katy the last 71/2 years of her life. Olga was a devout Catholic and enjoyed being involved in various church and school activities. In her early years she was President of the Mother’s Club of St. John’s Catholic School. Olga was also an active member of the Altar Society and a Charter member of the CDA (Catholic Daughters of America). She was also a member of the Czech Heritage Society in Fayetteville. Olga worked many years at the Oak Motel in La Grange as a switchboard operator and still found time to care for her family, keep a flower garden and can vegetables.

In Olga Gully’s later years she was known for donating hermany beautifully handcrafted quilts that were auctioned at

the St. John’s Church Feasts in Fayetteville. She enjoyed quiltingso very much and received great satisfaction in helping her Church in this way. She is survived by her two children, Cynthia (Gully) Henneke and husband Wilfred of Houston; also a son George Gully and wife Linda of Fayetteville. Other survivors includedaughter-in-law Dorothy Gully of Fayetteville and son-in-law William Socha. Olga is also survived by her two sisters Effie Piwetz of Houston, Marian Prihoda of College Station and one brother, Lawrence Jasek and wife Verlene also of Houston. Seven grandchildren, 15

great-grandchildren, one greatgreat- grandson and soon to be great-great-granddaughter also survive. Olga Gully was preceded in death by her husband Clement H. Gully, daughter Genevieve Ann (Gully) Socha and son Clem W. Gully, Jr.

Services were held at St.John the Baptist CatholicChurch in Fayetteville with Father Steve Sauser and Deacon Robert Janak. Burial followed at the St John’s Catholic Cemetery. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
