Stricter Emission Standards Upheld

The Fayette County Record Federal regulation of hazardous pollution – mercury, chromium, arsenic, acid gases, nickel, cadmium and other hazardous air pollutants – from coal-fired power plants such as the Lower Colorado River Authority’s Fayette Power Project passed another legal hurdle last week when a federal appeals court upheld the Environmental Protection Agency’s first emission standards for these substances.
