A Colorado River Monster

Four local men caught this massive 7-foot, 5-inch alligator gar while bow-fishing on the Colorado River south of La Grange Sunday May 11. It is believed to be one of the largest ever caught in the river here and is estimated to be about 70 years old. The state record for an alligator gar caught via bow-fishing is an eight-footer caught in the Trinity River in 2001.
