Shorthorns Edge Stockdale

The Schulenburg football team got all the points it would need in the first quarter Friday at Stockdale as the Shorthorns won 14-13.

Temon Glover and Brayden Duarte ran for touchdowns in that first quarter, on rushes of eight an 69 yards respectively, and then the Shorthorn defense came up big to stop a potential go-ahead conversion pass by Stockdale with 4:53 left in the third quarter after the Brahmas had scored a touchdown to trim the Schulenburg lead to just one point.

The Shorthorns host Weimar this week in a big rivalry game for the two teams. Weimar won its opener Friday, beating Manor New Tech 43-0.
