Judith “Judy” A. (Weikel) Stueber

Judith “Judy” A. (Weikel) Stueber, 76, of La Grange, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Care Inn in La Grange. Judy was born in La Grange on March 18, 1938, the daughter of Alvin and Anita “Annie” (Cook) Weikel. She married Harold Dean Stueber on June 27, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange. Judy received her beautician’s education from Vogue Beauty College. Her first beautician’s job was working for Mary Mewis Salon (called “My Ladies”) and then for Mary Blume. After working for the two salons, she owned three salons, Classic Beauty Shop, Judy & Company and Judy’s Hair Fashions. Judy enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included the annual Rockport outing, bowling and traveling with friends and family. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Altar Society at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by daughter, Jackie Muzny and husband, Daniel; daughter, Janis Janca and husband, Chris; daughter, Jill Stueber and partner, Mary Behal; son, Jeff Stueber and wife, Cindy, all of La Grange; daughter, Jennifer Sanders and husband, Jim, of Harker Heights; twelve grandchildren: Mica DeScioli and husband, Thomas, Jr.; Steven Muzny and wife, Sharon; Jay Janca and wife, Dana; Bryn Janca; Alyssa Janca; Ryan Stueber and wife, Jenny; Regan Stueber and fiancée, Stephanie Reid; Randi Stueber and fiancé, Paul Prestera; Shelby Stueber; Megan Lee and husband, Jon; Brendan Sanders and fiancée, Kori Jennings; and Mikayla Sanders; seven great-grandchildren: Mattie Muzny, Alice Muzny, Reisy Janca, Candyn Janca, Madison Stueber, Mason Stueber and Ella Reid; two sisters: LeAnna Ramirez and husband, Louis, of Seguin; Sandy DelVecchio and husband, Warren “Del” of La Grange; brother, Jim Weikel and wife, Sandra, of La Grange; five brothers-in-law: Grady Stueber and wife, Kathy; Jim Stueber; Mike Stueber; Royce Adams and Bobby Adams; sister-inlaw, Denise Baker and partner, Victor Mathews; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; who passed away on Sept. 17, 2006; sister, Patty Weikel; and nephew, Brad Weikel. Visitation was held on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Funeral Services were held at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Plum at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Burial followed at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart School, 545 E.
