Schulenburg Runs Over Bloomington To Claim Homecoming Clash 49-25

The Schulenburg Shorthorns started their district season off with a Homecoming win against the Bloomington Bobcats Friday night, 49-25.

Bloomington’s speed and effective passing game kept the score close through much of the first half. The Shorthorns picked up a pair of touchdowns late in the second quarter off some Bloomington mis-cues, from which the Bobcats were unable to recover.

“We came out here saying we’ve got to stop their ground game, but they came out here with their deep passing game and really hurt us with it a few times,” Shorthorn head coach Brandon Brown said after the game. “(Bloomington) is doing really good this year. They’ve been stepping up and making some plays. They showed us some things we need to work on.”
