Oil Production is Down, Gas Up in Fayette County

Oil production in Fayette County was down about 14 percent through July of this year, compared to the same time last year. July is the most recent month with available production numbers.

According to figures from the Texas Railroad Commission, wells in Fayette County produced 871,498 barrels of crude oil from January to July of this year. Last year, Fayette County wells produced 1,015,578 barrels from January to July. The County ended 2018 with 1,619,997 barrels of oil produced.
