Like Father, Like Son

Monday, June 29, 1942, Fred D. Lyons, of Bradford, Pa. was directed to report for his physical for the US Army. After

extensive training, Fred became one of Darby’s Rangers and served with the 3rd Ranger Bn. He fought through the hell

of Anzio, Italy and was part of a night march on Cisterna. The 1st, 3rd, and 4th Ranger battalions were surrounded in

that battle at Cisterna and were hopelessly cut off
