Emmett Muske, 76, died October 24, 2019 in Brenham.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 at Abiding Word Lutheran Church, with Pastor Martin Moore officiating, with burial to follow in the Latium Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Emmett Muske was born Feb. 2, 1943 to Elda (Ziese) and Bruno Muske in Shelby. He was baptized Aug. 27, 1944 and was confirmed in the Christian faith on April 14, 1957 in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. He attended elementary school at Industry and later Brenham High School.
Emmett loved the outdoors and helped his family with farming chores. Hunting and fishing were favorite pastimes. Emmett was also very talented at restoring antique tractors. He was very proud of his family, and treasured time spent with them. He also enjoyed trips to Fredericksburg.
After high school, Emmett worked at Blue Bell Creameries for 11 years and then for Sealy Mattress Co., retiring after 33 years.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Laurie Muske of Burton; daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Bryan McKee of Brenham; grandchildren: Kaleb Muske and wife Angela, Lace Muske and wife Jamie, Ciera Lomax and husband Jeffrey; Westen Muske, Dylan McKee, Shelby McKee, Addison Roehling and Cameron Roehling; greatgrandchildren: Lana Muske, Brantlee Muske, Kennedy Muske, Bentlely Muske, Emrie Muske, Levi Lomax, and Miya Hansen.
Also surviving are sistersin-law Marian Muske and Leda Mae Muske; sister Frances Eilers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Audley Muske and Nelson Muske, and brother-in-law, Glenver Eilers.
Serving as pallbearers were Mr. Muske’s grandchildren.
