On the Mark

In 2010 Bastrop’s Lakeside Hospital closed, and stayed vacant for two years before reemerging as an Emergency Department. In 2012 Colorado-Fayette Medical Center in Weimar closed its doors, and is still empty, though it could re-open soon. Just weeks ago, Smithville’s hospital announced a round of lay-offs.
