Evelyn Mae Rodiek
Evelyn Mae Rodiek, 90 of Brenham, died Aug. 1, 2014. Evelyn was born on Nov. 7, 1924 in Fayette County to Edward and Minnie (Horndt) Plagens. Evelyn was baptized on Dec. 14, 1924 by Pastor O. Lindenberg. She was confirmed on
Sept. 4, 1938 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fayette County by Pastor Jul. Bosshard. She was educated at County Line
School in Fayette County. On Aug. 29, 1943 Evelyn married Arthur Rodiek in Florida. Evelyn was a faithful member
of Grace Lutheran Church. She worked at Blue Bell for many years. Later in life she and her husband worked at
Grace Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Auxiliary unit
48. She loved to cook and bake and made some of the best kolaches and strudels. She loved to spend time with her family and friends and in her younger years she loved to go dancing with her husband. Survivors include daughter
and son-in-law, Betty Ann and Martin Wiesepape Jr. of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law: Arthur K. and Melinda Rodiek
of Bellville; grandchildren, Debbie Genz, Mark Wiesepape and wife, Kristin, Grant Rodiek and fiancée Bethany Wan of San Francisco, Calif., Dylan Rodiek and wife Morgane of Yoakum; great-grandchildren, Stacy Genz, McKenna Wiesepape, Samantha Wiesepape, Garrett Wiesepape, Ella Wiesepape, Ayden Wiesepape, and Riese Wiesepape, Zoe and Claire Rodiek; and numerous other relatives and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Arthur
Rodiek, and parents, Edward and Minnie Plagens. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham, with Pastor Matthew Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Family received friends and relatives from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers include Mark
Wiesepape, Garrett Wiesepape, Grant Rodiek, Dylan Rodiek, Leslie Little, Melvin Otto, and Darrell Plagens. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Glenz, David Folschinsky, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given to
