‘Judging’ Weber’s First Year
A Conversation With the County Judge as he Nears One Year on the Job
Fayette County Judge Joseph Weber is completing his first year in office. The Record sat down with him over lunch on the patio of Bistro 108 in La Grange last week. The following is a summary of the conversation.
Record: You were born in Weimar?
Weber: That’s right, 1950. My uncles were doctors in Schulenburg and Mother was a nurse. She worked in the Money Clinic there. Dad came back from the war and was going to college on the GI Bill and so I was born in Weimar. When he got out of college (we moved) and my formative years were spent in Abilene.
Weber met his friend, future college chum and current Round Top neighbor Rick Perry while living in Abilene. They played six-man football on rival teams: Perry for his hometown of Paint Rock; Weber for Central Catholic High School.
