Graveside services for Adeline Nietsche, 91 of Warda, were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019 at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Warda with Rev. Dustin Beck officiating.

Adeline Adele (Schulze) Nietsche was born on Jan. 7, 1928 in Sand, Texas to Ernest Herman and Martha Anna (Schubert) Schulze. Adeline married Elmer Harry Nietsche on Jan. 7, 1951 in Winchester with Rev. G. Heinemier officiating. After marriage Elmer and Adeline moved to Houston until they returned to Warda in 1965 to take care of Elmer’s parents. She was very active in the church and participated in the LWML Ladies Aid group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Adeline could be found working in her garden or helping on the farm with the cattle. She also enjoyed playing dominoes and spending as much time as she could with her family and friends.

Adeline passed away the evening of Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019 in Luling.

Adeline is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Martha Schulze; husband, Elmer Nietsche and four brothers, Martin, Wilbert, Elton and Erwin.

She is survived by three nieces, Delores Holick of Houston, Barbara and Michael Symm of Giddings and Janet Campbell of Lexington; and three nephews, Kenneth Schulze of Warda, Douglas and Karen Schulze of New Braunfels and Steven and Jan Schulze of Katy; as well as several great nieces and great nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery Fund or to the charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
