Civil unrest in Southern Sudan earlier this year caused teachers and orphans to flee to the bush from their school named Gumriak, a place 120 orphans have called home or school for the last six years. Calmer conditions have allowed them to return to Gumriak to continue their studies that have given them some of the highest academic scores in Southern Sudan.
