Classie Mae McKenzie

Classie Mae McKenzie, 83, of La Grange died Oct. 3, 2014 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange. She was born Sept. 19, 1931 to Emma (Orise) and James Tutson in La Grange. She was married to Dell McKenzie on Dec. 9, 1950 in La Grange. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in La Grange. She is survived by daughters, Ida R. Holloway and husband Orange of Giddings, Velesta McKenzie-Reaux and husband John of Houston, Sarah McKenzie of Houston, Dell M. Waddell and husband Craig of La Grange, Dorothy Sargent and husband Wilbert of Navasota; sons, Henry McKenzie and wife Jackie of Houston, Rober L. McKenzie and wife Charmine of Atlanda, Ga., and Joseph E. McKenzie of La Grange. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, her sibilings, and four  grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Matthew Missionary Bapitst Church in La Grange at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 with the Rev. H. Penson officiating.
