Strike in Arlington Costs Dealership

Production delays from a General Motors auto worker strike last fall resulted in one local dealership losing its bid award with the Sheriff’s Office for two new Chevy Tahoes. Last November, Oviedo Chevrolet in La Grange won a bid to supply the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office with two 2020 Chevy Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicles (PPV) for $36,889 each. The PPVs are built at a GM plant in Arlington.

In an article that appeared in the publication Government Fleet on Feb. 3, Chevrolet communications manager Monte Doran said the plant lost 40 days of production from the strike.
