NVCC Members Hear from EMS Director Sharon Muzny

The open house for the Navidad Valley Community Connections (NVCC) Crafty Corner was well received. A video on has been posted on Facebook of the day. The door prize drawing was won by Elroy Dieringer. NVCC appreciates Todd Gorman for making a great sign in the entryway of the building.

The Book Club meeting on Friday went very well. Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, his wife Tricia and a few deputies from the department, as well as officers from the Schulenburg Police Department were on hand to hear Vicki Gustofson and her husband Jay talk about the life of a law enforcement officer, from the wife’s perspective. Her book is an excellent guide to help new wives and families of officer’s adjust. There was also a discussion on church safety, with two local clergies in attendance, Pastor Thompson from First Baptist in Schulenburg and Pastor Lemae Higgs from Swiss Alp Evangelical Lutheran. Regular Book Club members enjoyed just listening to some of the experiences as well as the give and take between these folks.
