Removal on Hold for Quarantined Garbage in Schulenburg

The City of Schulenburg has not picked up the garbage at the recently-quarantined Americas Best Value Inn in nearly a month.

Schulenburg City Administrator Tami Walker told the City Council during a meeting on Monday that the County Emergency Management Office ordered the garbage quarantined until April 27.

Back on April 1, Fayette County placed the hotel under quarantine after one of the workers there tested positive for coronavirus. Last Tuesday, the County released the hotel guests from quarantine after none of them tested positive or developed any symptoms. County Emergency Management Chief Craig Moreau said the hotel workers, some of whom live at the hotel, were issued “separate recommendations” from healthcare providers.
