Hulda Anna Graf entered her eternal glory on April 16, 2020, at the age of 96 years, 3 months, and 18 days.
Due to recent health concerns and in accordance with the CDC and local County Judge recommendations, the family has requested a private memorial service at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Warda on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 11 a.m. If you would like to attend, out of respect for the family’s wishes, we request that you stay in your vehicle with the windows down.
She was born on December 29, 1923 in Warda to Wilhem and Anna (Pietsch) Lehmann. She became a child of God in Holy Baptism on Jan. 13, 1924, only a few days after she was born at Holy Cross Lutheran Church by Pastor Gottfried Buchschacher. Rev. Eifart also confirmed her in the Christian faith on April 5, 1936 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Her confirmation verse was 2 Timothy 2:8. Her confirmation hymn was “Take My Life and Let It Be.”
Hulda spent the majority of her youth presiding in Warda. On July 5, 1942 she married Lee Roy Graf of Round Top. Their wedding text was Joshua 24:15. They moved to Houston early in their marriage and lived there until they retired and returned to Warda.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy (Jan. 8, 2004), by her daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Marie Ault and Patricia Ann Graf and by her siblings.
Hulda is mourned by Michael and Corean Wilson of Pottsburo and their family, Michelle Wilson, Heidi and Steven Johnson and their child Haley. She is also mourned by Janet Gilmer and family, Matthew and Jenny Hill, Ian and Evan and Travis and Amanda Hill, Annabelle and Landon.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 FM 1482, Warda, Texas 78960; Round Top Area Historical Society, Inc, P.O. Box 151, Round Top, Texas 78954 or the charity of one’s choice.
