La Grange ISD Hires Muzny, Bennett for Director Positions

The La Grange ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of two open director positions Monday evening at a special called school board meeting.  

The new Director of Technology is Dave Bennett, current technology teacher at La Grange MIddle School.  He has been with La Grange ISD for the past three years.  Bennett has a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from Lamar University in Beaumont.  He will replace retired Director of Technology, Michael Mach.  Bennett will officially begin his assignment on July 1.

The new Director of School Operations and Safety is Sharon Muzny, current Director of Emergency Management Services for Fayette County.  Muzny has been with EMS for 16 years and has served as the director for the past 13 years.  She is a former graduate of La Grange High School.  She holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Psychology and Sociology and also holds a Master's Degree from UT Austin in Public Leadership.  Muzny will replace retiring Director of Operations, Neal Miller.  She will begin her assignment on June 1.
