James Verlon (J.P.) Pollard

James Verlon (J.P.) Pollard, 85, of Lincoln died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at St. Marks Medical Center in La Grange. James was born on Oct. 22, 1929 in Elizabeth, La. to Gilbert Ivy Pollard and Dell (Perkins) Pollard. He was united in marriage to Virginia Galipp at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim. J.P. served in the navy from 1951 until 1953 when he was honorably discharged. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. He is survived by his beloved friend, Vallie Jatzlau of Giddings; children, Susan Jatzlau of Giddings, Tim and wife, Sharra Jatzlau of Round Rock, and Polly and husband, Troy Cantu of Hutto; grandchildren, Samantha Jatzlau of Round Rock, Addison Cantu of Hutto, and Troy Shugart of Round Rock; as well as many extended nieces and nephews. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
