Aileen Neutzler Blume

Aileen Neutzler Blume, 95, died the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La
Grange. Aileen Neutzler Blume was born on July 23, 1919 in Greenvine to Adolph “Tom” Neutzler and Alma (Wickel) Neutzler. Aileen was united in marriage to Kermit Blume on July 18, 1940 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Greenvine. She and Kermit owned and operated the Ledbetter Store for several years. Aileen also worked in the office at the auction barn in Giddings for many years. She and Kermit were always active members of the Ledbetter community. Aileen was one of the original members of the Ledbetter Homemakers Club and volunteered countless hours helping with the annual Ledbetter Homecoming and Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department’s Firemen’s Feast. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings and enjoyed sewing and traveling. Aileen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother and sister-in-law, Branch and Nelita Neutzler and her sister, Janet Lehmann. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sandy Blume of Ledbetter; her five grandchildren, Amanda Blume of College Station, Kristen Blume of Ledbetter, Emily Leamons and her husband, James of Mason, Nathan Blume of Ledbetter and Grace Blume of Ledbetter; one great-grandson, Charlie Leamons of Mason; brother-in-law, Kenneth Lehmann of Ledbetter; nephews and nieces, Branch Neutzler and his wife, Dolores of Austin, Fay Weigelt and her husband,
Charles “Rudy” of Austin, Kay Schmidt of Giddings, Jo Lynn Schoenberg and her husband, James of Carmine, Darrell
Neutzler and his wife, Vicki of Carmine, Sandra Blasig and her husband, Ronnie of Giddings and Dawn Flores of Cedar Park. Aileen is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Aileen are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial will be in the Ledbetter Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 from 7 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 North Grimes Street, Giddings, Texas 78942 or
to the charity of one’s choice. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
