Connie Maffei

Connie Maffei, 88, of Round Top, died Friday, March 20, 2015, in St. David’s Hospital in Austin. Born on Sept. 4, 1926, in

Port Washington, N.Y., she was the daughter of Angelo and Susan D’Agostino, the third of five children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Marius Maffei, her brother Gerald D’Agostino and sisters Rose Mattocks and Susan Paukert. She is survived by her eldest daughter Angela Maffei Allen and her husband Stephen Allen, her son Robert Maffei, her youngest daughter Julie Maffei, her sister Anne Pierce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews around the country. Connie graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Galveston in 1949. She dedicated her life to nursing and worked as a private duty nurse the majority of her 44 year career. In 1987, after retiring, she enjoyed being with her family, traveling, Italian food, opera, theatre, film and reading books. A reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday,
