Lillian J. (Shimek) Krenek

Lillian J. (Shimek) Krenek, 89, of Fayetteville died Monday, April 13, 2015. Lillian was born in Fayetteville on March 9, 1926, the daughter of John and Otellia (Wychopen) Shimek. She married LeRoy Krenek on Nov. 22, 1953 in Fayetteville.

Lillian was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville, KJZT for over 50 years, and the Altar Society. She is survived by three sons: David Krenek and wife, Vivian, of West Point; Danny Krenek of Bastrop; Darvin Krenek of Fayetteville; daughter, Diane Sivek and husband, Billy, of Fayetteville; brother, Johnnie Shimek and wife, Irene, of Yoakum; five sisters: Loretta Peschel and husband, Leroy, of Industry; Tina Weishuhn and husband, Waldo, of Fayetteville; Leona Padgett, Lydia Simcek, and Lucille Weishuhn all of Sealy; brother-in-law, Clarence Krenek and wife, Lillian, of Rockdale; grandchildren: Tracy Shrader and husband, Bo; Thomas Poncik and wife, Brittany; great grandson: Ty Shrader; step grandchildren: Tara Schomburg and husband, Chuck; Amy Bertsch and husband, Loren; step great grandchildren: Caitlyn and Tyler Schomburg, and Luke Bertsch; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 61 years, LeRoy Krenek; sister, Louise Mae Dvorak; brother, Jerry Shimek; infant sisters, Lorena and Lewina Shimek. Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel in Fayetteville. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. by KJZT. Funeral Services were held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 205 E. Bell St. in Fayetteville at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Burial followed at Fayetteville Catholic Cemetery.
