Lebert John Prihoda

Lebert John Prihoda, 82, of Fresno, died April 7, 2015 at Atrium Medical Hospital in Houston. Lebert was born on July 30, 1932 in Columbus to Louis Prihoda and Annie Masaryk Prihoda. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Manvel, Knights of Columbus, KJT, and the Carpenters Local Union #213. Lebert was a retired carpenter in the acoustical ceiling business. He served in the Army with most of his tour in Germany. Lebert enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, he was interested in rare guns, had a collection of Czech music and he loved to waltz. He and his wife spent a lot of time saying rosaries in adoration in the chapel at Sacred Heart. They also would say rosaries for those in need. All he wanted to do these last few months in the hospital was to pray, he loved the Lord. Lebert is survived by his wife, Scholastica Kolodejcak Prihoda of Fresno, daughter Susan Jurek and husband Jeffrey of Arcola, son Mark Prihoda and wife Robin of Alvin; grandchildren Kevin, Nicole, Bethany, Gabrielle and Madeline Jurek, Susan Bearden and Charlene Hernandez; great-grandchildren Emily Jurek, James Bearden, Adrianna and Victoria Hernandez, Isaac and Isaah Williams and Delilah Thompson; sister Gladys Polasek of La Grange; sister-in-law Lillie Prihoda of Freeport and brother-in law Jerome Kolodejcak of Houston; along with numerous nieces and nephews.Lebert was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tina Marie; brothers: Fred, Louis, Robert and Sylvester; sisters, Cornella Vitek, Lena Saha and Anita Hrachovy. Visitation was held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manvel. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services were Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manvel. Interment was at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church in Manvel. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
