River Rises to 17-Year High

As locals closely monitored the rising waters of the Colorado River after heavy rains this week, Fayette County commissioners reported Monday on minor flood damage from Saturday’s heavy rains. Several culverts washed out and Commissioner Tom Muras stated his precinct has a bridge out on Gebert Road. By noon Wednesday, flood waters had reached an expected peak of 37.9 feet on the LCRA river gauge above La Grange.
