Mildred Slanina

Mildred Slanina, 96 of Ellinger, died June 24, 2015 in La Grange. Mildred was born on Nov.
27, 1918 in Ellinger to Anton Beran, Sr. and Louisa Pavlicek. She married Henry Slanina on June 16, 1941 in Ellinger. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger and the KJZT. She enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing. She is survived by one nephew; Tony Beran of Houston; two nieces, Anne Beran of Fayetteville and Kathy (Beran) Goerig of La Grange; numerous greatnephews and great-nieces also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation was held Thursday June 25, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday June 26, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Ellinger. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley in La Grange. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
