Daniel F. Muske
Daniel F. Muske, husband of Joyce Seidel Muske, was called home to our Lord on Sept. 4, 2015 at his residence in New Ulm. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. Pastor John David Nedbalek will officiate. Burial will follow in New Ulm Cemetery. Visitation was scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Daniel Muske was born on May 24, 1930 in Winedale to Louis A. and Viola M. Weber Muske. He was baptized on Aug. 24, 1930 and confirmed on June 24, 1945. As a youth, he attended the Winedale School and Boundary School, and graduated from Burton High School. Dan served in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954, and then attended Southwest Business College. On Oct. 19, 1957, he married Joyce Seidel. He then became employed by W. Harold Broyles Insurance and Real Estate. On March 1, 1960, Dan and Joyce established Dan Muske Insurance Service Inc. In 1976, he became part owner of American Underwriters Inc. Dan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. He was active in his community, serving as Secretary of the New Ulm Lions Club for 21 years. Other memberships included Meals On Wheels, VFW, American Legion and the Southbelt Sports Association, where he served as President. He also served as a Director of Republic State Bank of Houston. He was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, father-inlaw, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved spending time with his family, especially on their annual vacation trip to Rockport. He also enjoyed sports, coaching baseball, umpiring, dancing, traveling, and gambling on his monthly trips to Marksville, Louisiana. He never met a stranger and loved to talk and tell jokes and stories. He gave generously with his whole heart and he loved unconditionally. Everyone loved him, especially his family and he will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Muske of New Ulm; son, Jay Muske and special friend, Gina Talbert of Friendswood; daughters and sons-in-law Sandra and Terry Krebs of Shelby, and Wanda and Rocky Leopold of Columbus; grandchildren: John and Monica Anderson, Michael Krebs, Justin Krebs and fiancé, Julie Locke; Cort Leopold, Drew Leopold, Lexi Leopold and special friend, Derrick Hayes; Jared Muske and special friend, Sarah Lucas, Cole Muske, Westin Talbert and Brooke Talbert; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Anderson and Wesley Anderson; brother, Clyde Muske and wife, Delores of Houston and sister-in-law, Carolyn Muske of Brenham; brother-in-law, A. G. Seidel of New Ulm. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding Dan in death were his parents, Louis and Viola Muske; brother, Howard Muske; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Alice Seidel; sisterin- law, Betty Seidel, infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Leopold and infant nephew, David Brian Muske. Serving as pallbearers are John Anderson, Michael Krebs, Cort Leopold, Justin Krebs, Jared Muske, Drew Leopold, Cole Muske, Westin Talbert, Wesley Anderson, Lexi Leopold, Kaylee Anderson and Brooke Talbert. Honorary pallbearers are all members of these organizations: New Ulm Lions Club, American Legion Post 602 of Shelby, VFW Post 7104 of Brenham, driver, Clint Lister and riders of the Banse Bus to Paragon Casino and all members of Friends Tree.
