If It’s On the Internet, It Must Be True

It happened again. Someone put out a seemingly genuine alert about protecting your privacy on Facebook – and millions of people began copying and pasting it to their profiles in hopes of “protecting” their information. It starts off with “It’s official!” or “Better safe than sorry.” It goes on to say, “By this statement, I give notice to Facebook it is strictly forbidden to disclose, copy, distribute, or take any other action against me based on this profile and/or its contents.
