Jail Named For Former District Judge Dan Beck

Fayette County Commissioners Court voted on Monday, November 9, to rename the Fayette County Justice Center the Judge Dan R. Beck Fayette County Justice Center. Commissioners made the change on the recommendation of District Judge Jeff Steinhauser, retired Fayette County District Attorney John Wied and the Fayette County Bar Association. Dan Beck passed away April 12, 2015. Beck was Steinhauser’s predecessor as judge of the 155th District Court before stepping down in 2010. Prior to that, Beck served terms as Fayette County Judge, County Attorney and Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3.
