Local Congregation Giving Thanks for Gift of New Church

Last August, Dorothy Shelby, a local artist whose husband Herbert is the pastor of the Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Round Top, met a preacher in La Grange who told her that a man had built a church for his congregation for free. The builder and donor, a man named Randy French is a successful College Station homebuilder. Dorothy said French had previously built and donated two La Grange area churches – one at Gay Hill and another, the Peaceful Rest Baptist Church, on Fannin Street in town.
