John A. Vermersch

John A. Vermersch, Jr., 69, of New Ulm, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 in Brenham. John was born in San Antonio on Dec. 22, 1945, the son of John A. Vermersch, Sr. and Doris (Peters) Vermersch. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio and earned degrees from North Texas State in Denton and MIT in Massachusetts. He joined the Navy in 1965 and served several tours. He is survived by his wife, Lois Steele, of New Ulm; sister, Carolyn Klein, of Honolulu; mother-in-law, Leona Luedeker and brother-in-law, Robert Luedeker, of New Ulm; sisterin- law, Bonnie Mutschler and husband, Dwight Mutschler, of Austwell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; many good friends and his beloved pets. A memorial observance will be held at a later date. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com. Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
