LaRue Rombs

LaRue Rombs, 89, of La Grange died Jan. 1, 2016 in a local nursing center. LaRue was born Dec. 27, 1926 in North Zulch, Texas to Hosa Roy and Bettie Collins Hawkins. She married Jack Daniel Rombs on Oct. 15, 1949 in Baytown. He preceded her in death. LaRue enjoyed reading, sewing, and crafts. LaRue is survived by: three daughters, Linda Sue Davis, Cathy Schroeder, and Daniece Peck; four grandchildren: Tina Davis Straus and her husband, Stephen, Marc Davis and his wife Allyson, Melissa Bellamy and her husband Aaron and Edwin Russell Peck III (Trey); 11 great-grandchildren: Shawn Michael Davis, Steven Ray Davis, Ryan Michael Davis, Jackson Thomas Bellamy, Charlotte Louise Straus, Andrew Henry Straus, Alejandro Luis Cazares, Samuel Alexander Bellamy, Megan Estelle Davis, Sophia Elise Cazares, and Abigail Bellamy. LaRue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Franke Lee Spicer, and one grandson, Michael Ryan Davis. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange is in charge of arrangements.
