Katherine “Bea” (Dunn) Dhooge

Katherine “Bea” (Dunn) Dhooge, 89, of La Grange, Texas, died Monday, January 18, 2016. Bea was born in Quanah, Texas on Nov. 24, 1926, the daughter of Clarence Edward Dunn and Nova Anna (Wilson) Dunn. She married Gerard “Jerry” Dhooge on Jan. 5, 1980 in Houston. Bea worked as International Payroll Personnel Director for Globemaster, Inc. for twenty years. Bea loved singing and playing the piano. She was a volunteer at St. Mark’s Medical Center, Hospice Brazos Valley and Family Crisis Center. She was a member of the church choir at the First United Methodist Church of La Grange and Past President of the La Grange United Methodist Women’s organization. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Dhooge, of 36 years; daughter, Karla Dopslauf and husband, Keith, of Franklin; two sons: Alan Sharpley and wife, Ann, of Austin; Robert Sharpley and wife, Carla, of Chapin, S.C.; brother, James Dunn and wife, Gussie, of Mandeville, La.; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Katherine Ignatious; two brothers: Glyndel and Harold Dunn. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 1215 N. Von Minden, in La Grange at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016. A private burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O.
