Cold Weather, Warm Fires and Deer Meat

January brings two things to our house – fires in the hearth and deer meat in the garage. If there is a fire in the hearth, it is cold outside. If it is cold outside, I want to be inside. If there is deer meat in the garage, we are either making sausage or jerky. Why? Because all through hunting season, my husband and children stalk (and sometimes shoot) deer.
