Wallace Edward Krebs

Wallace Edward Krebs, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, in Cypress. Wallace was born on Oct. 12, 1940 in Bellville to Wilkens Henry and Evelyn Ahlrichs Krebs. He grew up in Lake Jackson. After graduating from Brazosport High School in Freeport, he went to Texas Lutheran University where he studied business and played basketball. During the Vietnam War era, Wallace was drafted into the US Army. He served with the Military Police (MP) branch of the service at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. where he attained the level of marksman. After leaving the US Army he earned a bachelor of business degree at Southwest Texas State University in 1969. Wallace lived in Fayetteville on the family farm for the past twenty five years. Wallace loved the peace and quiet of the country and spending his days tinkering around the farm. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter often spending his weekends going after dove, quail or white tailed deer. He also loved a good turkey shoot, probably because he was such a good shot, often doing very well in these events. His other love was restoring old Corvettes and racing them. He spent many hours working on these American classics and did some top notch work on them. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilkens Henry and Evelyn Ahlrichs Krebs, aunt and Uncle Wilson Charles and Glenora Gaertner Krebs, and brother-in- law Robert Wayne Bundick. He is survived by his son, Randal Wayne Krebs and wife, Blanca, of Tampa; daughters, Rhonda Kay Plummer and husband, Mark, of Madison, Miss., Kimberly Ann Leone and husband, Reynold, of San Antonio, Kristen Lynn Jones and husband, Jon, of Katy; eight grandchildren, and one great granddaughter; brother, Wayne Henry Krebs and wife, Sharon, of Lake Jackson; sister, Carol Ann Bundick of Bailey’s Prairie; and cousin Judy Chovanec of Fayetteville.
