Marilyn Janice (Bollmeyer) Trlica
Marilyn Janice (Bollmeyer) Trlica, 82, of La Grange, died Friday, April 22, 2016 at Monument Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in La Grange. Marilyn was born on Oct. 13, 1933, the daughter of Robert Otto Bollmeyer and Julia Rosie (Krenek) Bollmeyer. She was baptized on Oct. 9, 1934 by Rev. R. Heise at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange and confirmed on Oct. 12, 1947 by Rev. H. T. Flachmeier. She attended Trinity Hill Lutheran Parochial School, grades one through five and graduated from La Grange High School in 1951. Marilyn married William Leroy “Bill” Trlica on Aug. 31, 1952 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange by Rev. H. T. Flachmeier. Together, she and Bill made their first home on a 100- acre farm near Rosanky and several years later moved to Angleton where they pursued careers and raised their two daughters. After residing in Angleton for 40 years, Bill and Marilyn moved to La Grange to spend their retirement years. They are members of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. While residing in Angleton, Marilyn worked in the Tax Department at the Brazoria County Court House for over 16 years. She participated in church choir, Vacation Bible School and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). In La Grange, she was a member of the Warda EH Club and held positions in J.O.Y. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, visiting shut-ins and nursing home residents. Her hobbies included photography, arts and crafts, cake decorating, gardening and sewing. Marilyn is remembered as loving her family dearly, but always remembering that she was only taking care of them for God, our Heavenly Father. She is survived by her husband for 63 years; two daughters: Merrilee Zedan of Houston; Ramona Tschaar (Alex), of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren: George Zedan (Christy) of Cypress; Monica Garner of Sweeny; April Day of Burleson; five great-grandchildren: Garrett, Mason, Maddox, Grayson and Major; one sibling, Robert “Buddy” Bollmeyer (Lillie Mae) of Pflugerville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Julia Bollmeyer; in-laws, William and Marie (Sabrsula) Trlica; younger brother, David Henry Bollmeyer; sister-in-law, Micki Bollmeyer; sister, Doris White; and brother-in- law, Marvin J. Trlica. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 12 to 8 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 800 N. Franklin in La Grange, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.
